Bansko Banter - Holiday Hints
- Chalin Valog in the morning – The first runs of the day on freshly groomed and empty black, red & blue pistes.
- Momini Dvori Mehana – A great place to eat on the staff night off. Serving traditional Bulgarian dishes including the “flaming sword of meat”. You could get dragged up by the Bansko locals to dance.
- Bansko BBQ at Chalin Valog – On request your hosts are able to organize a BBQ near the mid station pistes for lunch with your chef's fab food. (The service is great because you serve yourself).
- Retro bowling – Neon lights, ten lanes, pool tables, a full sized billiards table, foosball, air hockey, cheap beer and people shooting the air with imaginary guns. Hoo-Hah!
- Off-piste through the dwarf pines in ‘the cup’ - Small, evenly spaced trees are paradise for a fast off-piste run. There are small drops and powder stashes that stay untracked for days after a dump of snow in Bansko.
- 7km blue run in the dark – Throw caution to the wind and get a taxi up to Shilingarnika and ski down the home run in the dark. Refered to as ‘The Bansko Chicken Run’ because after a few drinks peer pressure can get the better of you. Best done on a full moon and with a torch.
- Chalet Bar Crawl - The chalets get together (often in fancy dress) and visit the best bars & clubs in Bansko.
