Non Skiers in Bansko

There are a lot of options for non-skiers in Bansko; the old town (used in the filming set of Expendables 2) is lovely to walk around and there are a number of museums and historical monuments as well as beautiful orthodox church to visit. The traditional mehanas (taverns) scattered around the town are an experience not to be missed.

The busy Bansko market takes place on Sunday mornings and you will see all sorts of trade, from antique skis and tools to homemade saddles and huge goat and cow bells.

If you fancy heading up the mountain, you can buy a gondola pass to get to Bunderista and meet the skiers in your group for lunch, or you can even buy a half day pass and go to the very top of the mountain. Walkers are allowed to use the Bansko ski lifts - they stop to make it easier for you and if you want you can go walking or snow shoeing to a variety of Winter picnic spots.

For a bit of pampering you can visit one of the beautiful spas in Bansko for a day of massage and beauty treatments - some of the spas also have heated outdoor pools so you can relax in the warm water, surrounded by snow. If you just want to relax, the chalet has a cosy lounge and sunny balconies.

For those wanting a little more action, there are plenty of activites to choose from including paintballing, horse riding and ski-mobiling.
